Pro tips most people learn the hard way

• Always check tyre pressure when tyres are COLD — first thing in the morning, before any driving. Hot tyres after a Karachi-Hyderabad motorway drive read 4-5 psi above their cold value, so setting them to "32 psi hot" means they'll be 27 psi when cold, which is dangerously under-inflated and burns fuel.
• The pressure sticker inside your car's driver-side door jamb is the manufacturer's recommendation for YOUR specific vehicle, not the maximum the tyre can hold. The number on the tyre sidewall is the maximum — never inflate to that. Stick to the door-jamb number, typically 30-35 psi for Pakistani passenger sedans.
• Blood pressure is universally measured in mmHg in Pakistani healthcare — never kPa. A digital monitor showing 16/11 kPa is the same as 120/80 mmHg. If your imported monitor displays in unfamiliar units, switch the mode in settings before recording readings to share with your GP.
• Altitude affects pressure dramatically. Murree at 2,300m has about 75 percent of sea-level oxygen partial pressure; K2 base camp at 5,200m has about 50 percent. Even healthy Karachiites can develop mild altitude sickness within 24 hours of arriving at Naran or Skardu. Acclimatize gradually if going higher than 3,000m.
• Pro tip for tyre care: nitrogen-filled tyres at premium tyre shops cost PKR 200-300 extra per tyre and hold pressure marginally better than air (because nitrogen molecules are slightly larger than oxygen, they leak slower). The benefit is real but small — for most drivers, checking regular air-filled tyres monthly is good enough.
