Second: blood pressure at the doctor is universally mmHg in Pakistan (120/80, 140/90), but the imported home monitor your father bought from Amazon ships with both mmHg and kPa modes — and the kPa numbers are unfamiliar enough to cause panic until you realize 16/11 kPa is just 120/80 mmHg. Third: weather apps and aviation use hPa or mbar (1013 standard, dropping to 980 during a Karachi cyclone), while Scuba diving uses atmospheres (2 atm at 10m depth, 3 atm at 20m). The unifying truth is that all of these measure the same physical quantity — force per area — at convenient scales for their applications. The most universally useful conversion to memorise for Pakistani drivers: 32 psi ≈ 2.2 bar ≈ 220 kPa — the typical recommended cold tyre pressure for a passenger sedan. Check monthly, especially before long Motorway drives, and never set pressure when tyres are hot from highway driving (they read 4-5 psi above their cold value).
